If you haven’t heard of William Hill you have either been living under a rock or you’re not old enough to be reading reviews of online bookmakers! William Hill are one of the biggest names in bookmakers, both online and in terms of brick and mortar shops. They are one of the industry leaders and have among that group for a long time now.

Here are some crazy stats about William Hill that you might not be aware of: They were the first to break into the American sports betting market. William Hill covers approximately 60,000 football games each year. In 2015 they boasted over 3 million users. These guys are the real deal, and honestly, the website is worth a look, as are the promotions they offer and the markets and odds they are able to get are just incredible.

At first glance the website might seem a little cluttered through the sheer volume of what’s on offer with William Hill, however, you can select favourites and limit the number of menu’s you use to get where you want to go. The casino tabs do take up over half of the menu options available, so if you are just there for the sportsbook it will be easier for you to navigate the site. Casino users will need to get used to the numerous tabs and options available with William Hill.

William Hill Welcome Offers

Like all big online bookmakers, William Hill offers welcome offers for both sports and casino customers. These are both in line with the other big-name bookies.

William Hill Other Promotions

William Hill really do lead the industry when it comes to promotions. At the time of this review there were over twelve promotions available – not including the above mentioned welcome bonuses. Everything from Bet Boosts, Money Back, Extra Places, #YourOdds, Flash Odds and Lucky 7’s were available.

William Hill literally has something here for everyone, the extensive list of promotions makes them stand out amongst the crowd. And put them certainly in the lead in terms of what they offer their customers. There are too many to list along with all the terms and conditions so here’s the link for both their sportsbook and casino promotions.

William Hill’s Markets

Because of William Hill’s brand name and reputation they have some of the best odds available. Not too mention an extensive range of markets in sports like;

American Football Baseball Basketball Bowls
Boxing Cricket  Cycling Darts
eSports Football  GAA Football GAA Hurling
Golf  Greyhounds  Handball Horse Racing
Ice Hockey Lottery MMA Motor Racing
Motor Bikes Politics Rugby Snooker
Tennis TV UFC Virtual Betting
Volleyball Winter Sports

Betting with William Hill ensures that you are getting the best odds over a huge range of markets. The number of different bets available per event is mind-blowing. Other bookmakers will offer up to 40 different markets per event whereas William Hill offers over 80 for the same events. Which is why they stand a step above the rest.

In-Play Betting

William Hill can lay claim to being one of the best online of In-Play Betting. The markets here are as varied as the sportsbook. The game stats available are comprehensive and enable you to make informed bets. This feature is also available on the mobile site and app.

Like all big players, William Hill offers live streaming as an accompaniment to their in-play betting. To watch their live streaming you will need an account and either money deposited into the account or have placed a bet within 24 hours. Except for horse racing – to watch the horse racing you will need to have bet a minimum of £1.00 on the race, a 50p E/W bet would do it as well.

eSports

Okay so we got a little disappointed when we reviewed William Hill’s eSports. When we went to review they actually only had 2 sports available, DOTA 2 and Overwatch – Contenders. Which we were surprised at to be honest. However, it seems we had our timing wrong. William Hill normally do offer more eSports such as League of Legends, Counter Strike, Halo and Starcraft. But there weren’t any games being played over the dates we reviewed the website.

Because we only had a limited choice at the time of the review we’re inclined to let this slide. The odds are on par with other industry leaders. They don’t offer live eSports betting which was another disappointment. To be honest we expected more, however like we’ve said there wasn’t a lot to review.

Virtual Sports

William Hill do all the popular virtual sports like; Football, Horse Racing, Greyhound Racing, Cycling and Motor Racing. But again like with eSports we were disappointed. Perhaps because of the weight that the William Hill name and brand carry, we expected more.

More sports, more markets. William Hill are industry leaders, it’s only fitting that we expect more from them. Their virtual sports seemed to fall flat for us. Like eSports they have great odds across the all the markets they offer.

Casino

Not only is William Hill a big name in the sportsbetting arena, they also have a big reputation in the online casino world. And it’s no wonder, considering that they only use the best technology throughout their casino catalogue, this gives you over 250 games to play, including table games like blackjack, craps and baccarat.

William Hill have literally all bases covered in this area. There are quick access tabs to Vegas, Casino, Live Casino, Games, Bingo, Scratch-cards, Macau and Poker. Meaning that you are spoilt for choice. They use over 10 software companies to give you a huge rage of games, themes and titles to play. You are not going to be bored here at all.

The only problem we encountered was the sheer choice. The menu’s aren’t very well-laid out and it means you could get lost and overwhelmed trying to pick a game to play. This obviously does get easier as you become more familiar with the site – but initially it can be quite daunting. For such a big name it’s disappointing that they can’t or haven’t streamlined their menus.

In saying all the above, William Hill have hit the target with their Live Casino. It’s clear, uncluttered and easy to follow. They offer all the popular games, Roulette, Blackjack, Baccarat and Poker. They have exclusive tables and the limits are clearly marked on the table options before you click into them.

Mobile & App

The mobile app is actually more user-friendly than the PC website. It’s not as cluttered and has easy to navigate menus. You’ll find all the features here that you find on the website including live streaming. It’s a great app and available on both iPhone and Android phones and devices. Note however that there are country restrictions so check those before you try to download the app, as that will cause some frustration.

Licensing and regulation

William Hill is licensed by the Gibraltar Government and have a license to operation in the UK from the UK Gambling Commission.

Customer Support

William Hill offer all the usual channels to contact their support team. Phone, email, live chat and Twitter – for those punters that are more techy than the rest of us. Overall there’s no shortage of ways to contact the support team. Who are brilliant, highly knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. There’s also the FAQ page to look at before taking the next step:

William Hill are an international bookmaker which means they have an international list of ways to deposit and withdrawal. Which is too long to list here, but include but not limited to:

  • Deposits: Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, Delta, iDeal, InstaDebit, Neteller, PayPal, Paysafecard, Skrill, Bank Transfer, Cheque
  • Withdrawals: Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, Delta, Bank Transfer, Neteller, PayPal, Skrill

William Hill also boost a extensive network of brick and mortar shops throughout the UK if you are more likely to be punting in the UK.

Betopin’s Verdict

It’s William Hill, what more can you say. They are a house-hold name for a reason. Because they are one of the best in the business. They offer variety across all markets, whether you dabble in sports, casino, novelties like politics or TV. They have all the big features you’d expect from an industry leader and then some. They have a great news service including features like Radio, Podcasts and WHTV Live Streaming.

All in all there’s not very many negatives you can take away from William Hill. As mentioned in our review we expected that their eSports and Virtual catalogues would be better, more comprehensive. But this is our expectations and not meeting our expectations doesn’t mean William Hill won’t meet yours.

They have some of the best odds in the business and they take care of all their customers, new and loyal. They are industry leaders across the board. Like we said at the beginning of this review if you haven’t heard of William Hill you’ve been living under a rock or you’re not old enough to be reading about bookmakers. Either way it’s only a matter of time before you will hear about William Hill.
