Super Bowl LV Preview – Best Players, Scores, Teams and Betting Predictions

Super Bowl LV Preview

So finally, after a long season through the covid pandemic, the NFC and AFC Champions have been crowned and Superbowl LV is set. An intriguing season where the NFL dealt with the pandemic as good as other sports throughout the world, there were amazing plays, great games, cancelled games, and new and old players making their names known or remembered.

Superbowl LV will be played on February 7th, at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay Florida. It may look a little different regards Super bowl week attendance and events but the NFL will do their best to make it the best Superbowl yet.

NFC champions Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be the first team in history to host the Superbowl and will face the current and defending champions Kansas City Chiefs.

Super Bowl – The Key Players

Kansas City Chiefs –

The Chiefs will go as far as their talisman QB Patrick Mahomes takes them. He has become the ‘IT’ player in the NFL since his first full season 3 years ago. TD records, MVPs and Superbowl MVPs have all followed and he really looks like a generational player. He is superb on his feet and throwing the football and can make average players stars in the system the Chiefs play.

The Chiefs though are also a loaded team with receivers and the best tight end in the league in Travis Kelce. A record-breaker for TDs and catches throughout his career he is difficult to defend and a presence in the run game. If Tampa tries to double team Kelce they will leave open space for the Chief’s other top receivers like Tyreek Hill. Small in stature he makes up for that in speed and route running to be one of the league’s top talents at the receiver spot.

On defence the Chiefs will look to their leader Tyronn Mathieu to set the tone for the others and to get after Tom Brady the Buccaneers QB.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers –

The Bucs will look to their leader at QB also. Although 43 years old now and clearly on the decline, his love for the game, leadership skills, ability to make the needed throws and his will to win are all still obvious. He will need to limit turnovers and give his offensive weapons a chance to make plays and keep Mahomes off the pitch.

The Tampa receiving core is a strong group with the likes of Cameron Brate, Mike Evans, Scotty Miller all talented players and Brady likes to spread the ball around. The main weapon though is Chris Godwin playing the slot. He is a star receiver and a very physical one at that. When he can affect the game, the other receivers will be left open and dangerous.

Throughout the year the Bucs defence has improved greatly and is now playing at a championship level. Old stalwarts like Ndamukong Suh and Jason Pierre-Paul will aim to get after Mahomes at every opportunity and let their corners and safeties finish the job.

Super Bowl – How can it be won

The key to Super bowl LV will be turnovers and ball control and time of possession. The Chiefs over the last two years have been too strong offensively for every team they have faced. They are so gifted with offensive weapons and can depend on Patrick Mahomes to play to a superstar level every week he is fit and well. For the Bucs to win they need to control the time of possession and use the clock to their advantage. This will require a smart game plan from the Bucs coaches and utilise the run game with their running backs Ronald Jones and Leonard Fournette.

Lastly, Tom Brady must protect the football. Throwing three interceptions like he did in the NFC Championship game is not going to cut it against an offence as strong as the Chiefs.

Super Bowl – The Prediction

There are so many stories that can come from this year’s Superbowl. Back-to-back Super bowl MVPs for Patrick Mahomes or Tom Brady leading the first home team to victory in his tenth Superbowl appearance in his first year away from the Patriots and his previous head coach Bill Belichick. On form, the chiefs will be the favourites and with the sportsbooks also.

Both teams are equally matched though with offensive weapons and good defensive players. The Chiefs would just shade the offence and the Bucs the defence. The Buc’s last defeat was at the hands of the Chiefs during the regular season and have since gone on an unbeaten run. It sure to be a high scoring game with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers just shading it and Tom Brady cementing his position as the ‘GOAT’ of American Football and the best QB ever.

Final Score 31-28
