Thursday’s Horse Racing NAP of The Day – January 9th 2020
Tips provided by The Finishing Lines Andrew Halligan
Clonmel 2.00 – Telmesomthinggirl @ 9/2
To me, this looks a nice opportunity for Henry de Bromhead trained mare to get off the mark. A winner of her only point and was 3rd in a strongly run race at Fairyhouse over 2m 4f where she was only beat 3 lengths.
Telmesomthinggirl then ran over 2m in Tramore where she was only fifth but it looked like she didn’t handle the track at all and needed a longer trip, so, the return to a more galloping track will see her in a better light.
Willie Mullins runs hurdles debutant Lord Royal but going on this season tread for Mullins runners he might just come on for this run.
So, with that said, a step up in trip and back on a more galloping trip Telmesomthinggirl will be hard to beat.
Telmesomthinggirl is best price 9/2 with Paddy Power.
Catterick 3.10 – Nefyn Point @ 5/1
A winner at Sedgefield two starts ago where he ran out a good winner. Nefyn Point was then hit by a 7lb penalty and looked to be undone by that
But with current jockey championship leader Brian Hughes back on board he could eak out more improvement from the Donald McCain trained Nefyn Point.
Dangers might come from Uncle Norman who gets blinkers on for which he wore when winning in the flat and also the 11-year-old Snowed In could outrun his big odds.
Nefyn Point is best priced 5/1 with Bet365.
prices are correct at time of writing.
