BetOnline is a private company founded in 1991 and is definitely focussed on American punters. The company went online in 2004. Their sportsbook menu is geared towards the American ‘classics’ sports. They do have international sports and markets available and there is quite a selection – perhaps not the choice you normally have when you stack BetOnline against Europe’s leading online bookmakers.
Each sport within the list is either red or grey, signifying if there are matches available at the time – which is a great feature especially if you are new to online sportsbooks or if you are looking at getting into a new sport / market. BetOnline have also added some great features and shortcuts within the menus that we’ll have a deeper look at below.

It may seem crazy to list these, but we felt the need to highlight the sheer number of promotions available on BetOnline. Because it’s nothing we’ve seen before, European online Bookmakers are just on this level of promotions. Here’s the link for you to see for yourself the staggering options available both as a new customer and an existing one.
Like mentioned above BetOnline is geared towards American punters and punters that prefer ‘classic’ American sports. The markets within these sports is average, with the odds on par with comparable European sites. After looking through BetOnline it did make us realise how spoilt we are for choice here in Europe.
Along with their sports markets they also offer Financials, Futures and Sports Props but again the range here isn’t huge. They do offer live betting however they don’t offer live streaming. And again when we compared it to the European online bookmakers the live betting platform was clunky and bland.
News, Tips and Other Features
BetOnline have a great Stats Centre and Sports Schedule available under the ‘Useful Links’ tab of the sportsbook menu. It is limited to the following leagues: CFL, MLB, NHL, NBA, NCAAB, NCAAF, NFL, WNBA, F1 & NASCAR however the stats are comprehensive and well worth a look if you’re interested in placing bets down on any of these markets.
Each league is broken down into categories such as Databases, Team Reports, Game Logs, Standings, Team Player Stats, Recaps. Honestly it’s a gold mine of information if ‘classic’ American sports are your thing.
BetOnline have a good selection of eSports available from DOTA2, League of Legends, Rainbow Six, King of Glory and Counter Strike. The markets are well varied with over 20 available on the matches that we looked at and the odds are level with other online bookmakers offering eSports.
With early markets available as well as outrights, todays matches and live streaming available BetOnline have all bases covered with their eSports. The live streaming is good quality with comprehensive commentary. You can also view the live streaming without an account if you’d like to have a look before you commit.
The casino section of BetOnline is well laid-out and easy to navigate. It’s separated into Featured, Table Games, Slots, Live Casino, Video Poker & Speciality Games. The games are powered by Betsoft and Visionary iGaming and are instant-play games.
BetOnline do have the standard 5-reel and 3-reel games available, but they have focussed the slot section on their 3D collection, including games like Aztec Treasures, Mr. Vegas, Mega Gems, The Slotfather and Rock Star just to name a few.
Whilst they do excel in their slot choice, BetOnline also have a good selection of table games including all the popular ones; Blackjack, Roulette, Craps and Baccarat. These are available in their Live Casino section as well. Keep in mind that you do need an account with BetOnline to access the live casino.
On top of all that BetOnline also have a Video Poker section, that has multi-hand, single-hand and Pyramid Poker available. All-in-all over 30 different options for video poker. They also offer tournament Poker with a substantial jackpot and a number of promotions specifically for poker players.
Mobile & App
BetOnline’s mobile site is as eye-catching as the website, bold red dominates the screen. There are limitations if you don’t have an account, for instance you can’t access the live betting or casino sections of the mobile site. And not all of their promotions are available through the mobile site. However in saying that the site works, it’s clear and concise and easy to follow and using the menus is a breeze.
They don’t have an app, although they advertise an app. This is just the mobile site bookmarked onto the home screen of your device. Keep that in mind if betting on the go is something you are more inclined to do as opposed to sitting at a PC to place your bets.
Licensing and regulation
BetOnline is licensed and regulated by The Republic of Panama Ministry of Economy and Finance Board Game Control. Honestly Panama licensing has always had the potential for red flags. However BetOnline have a proven track record, and are listed as one of the best-rated USA-friendly online bookmakers.
Unfortunately BetOnline do not have a page designated for responsible gambling. Something we found a little disappointing. Let’s be honest here, that page although we might not have read it all, or had the need to gain support listed in that designated page it’s a social responsibility to have it available to your customers. This actually swayed our verdict of BetOnline, in terms of protecting and supporting your customers we would expect that ALL online bookmakers would have this available to their customers.
BetOnline is available to USA customers, which is a huge untapped market and a difficult one to get into. They are still restricted in some countries though, mainly: Australia, Egypt, France, Ghana, Indonesia, Jersey, Morocco, Montenegro, Macedonia, The Former Yugoslav Republic of, Nigeria and Panama.
At the bottom of each page, and in the sportsbook menu there is access to BetOnline’s customer support team. With various different avenues to contact them, they are available 24/7. There’s been a few ups and downs for BetOnline particularly with their support team offering inconsistent service, however we didn’t have any problems and found their support staff helpful and knowledgeable.
Phone #: 1800-977-4717 OR 1888-426-3661
General Email: [email protected]
Poker Email: [email protected]
Casino Email: [email protected]
Live chat is available 24/7, however their FAQ’s section is quite detailed covering everything form deposits, horse betting to ‘What is Vigorish?’. So it’s well worth a look before taking the next step.
Deposits / Withdrawals
From what we can gather there are some hidden charges with depositing and withdrawals with BetOnline. The information they provide doesn’t obviously go into these but there have been reviews of card deposits attracting 6% deposit fees, and hidden charges when you withdrawal using cards as well. This could be an American issue, as the American government and DOJ have such strict rules and regulations regarding gambling sites. Here are the listed ways in which to deposit and withdrawal.
|Person to Person||$100||$600|
|Person to Person||$50||$400|
We enjoyed our time with BetOnline, although they are focussed on those ‘classic’ American sports they are opening up their sportsbook to include some European ‘classics’ and hopefully they will continue to do so. Their casino is well stocked with modern and sleek games and the list of promotions are enough to make anyone go in for a closer look. Whilst this isn’t our one stop shop for online bookmakers, it might be yours. They have a great range of markets and odds available to punters so if you dabble into American markets more than European markets, perhaps this is just the place for you.
